A TYPICAL DAY
Usually starts with Scott getting up early and seeing if a sunrise is going to happen, if so he wakes the group up, not compulsory, if not you get to sleep a bit longer. I usually have everyone up having breakfast around 7.30am, you supply your own breakfast. During this time we often discuss the coming day activities, play with an image, discuss the dynamics of capturing images. Depending on weather conditions depends often what and where we will venture too. Old buildings, machinery, big skies, small harbour, portraiture, macro, creative plus much more.

Testimonial;

If you're thinking about doing a workshop - stop & just book it! I had an amazing time on my first workshop just recently. Black & white photography at Otematata Station. We were privileged to have access to this beautiful location, a photographers dream. A photo everywhere you look. Scott is patient & generous with his information. There is no dumb question & if you want to know he will tell you. He guides you through the day, giving examples of how to shoot but also freedom to shoot how you want. He is extremely knowledgeable in post processing & guides you through creating that perfect image. And it's not all work no play, lots of laughs in a fun, relaxed environment. I would highly recommend any workshop to anyone keen to get stuck in & create awesome images while gaining new friends & having fun!

Scott guided me on how to shoot with the model, Gemma. He encouraged me to think about which angles I will shoot from, and explained how to build a relationship with the model, and keep talking to them, and to try different things! Scott was happy to move lights at my request to get the effect I wanted and he reminded me to check my histogram (first big lesson from the creative workshop). Scott allowed us to bring items to dress the model in, and let us accessories her and direct her. He showed us what we can do and gave lots of different settings in which to do so. Very beautiful looking and natural model, Gemma was superb. There was some setting up of scenes, but some of my favourite shots were ones I edited differently or shot from different angles than other people. Julie Sheppard
