A TYPICAL DAY

  • Usually starts with Scott getting up early and seeing if a sunrise is going to happen, if so he wakes the group up, not compulsory, if not you get to sleep a bit longer. I usually have everyone up having breakfast around 7.30am, you supply your own breakfast. During this time we often discuss the coming day activities, play with an image, discuss the dynamics of capturing images. Depending on weather conditions, depends often what and where we will venture too. Old buildings, machinery, big skies, small harbour, portraiture, macro, creative plus much more. Astro photography if weather permitting.

  • We spend time during the weekend visiting and using the various buildings and machinery to achieve portraiture, being creative, playing with light, trying new techniques, looking at a scene and capturing it creatively.

  • In the evenings we spend the time to process the images from the day, sharing our shots, trying new ideas under the guidance of Scott.

  • Explanations at your level, from beginner to expert.

  • You will receive professional guidance and advice while shooting at a variety of locations. You will also receive valuable feedback on your photographs from your group in critique sessions.

  • Theory and technique are practiced, developed, nurtured and grown through a series of practical shoots and class sessions.

  • Over the four days you will be encouraged to experiment with new techniques and venture into undiscovered creative territory.

Testimonial;

Scott Fowler's course took me from zero to hero in just four days. His Creative workshop was the start of great things. He is extremely knowledgeable and encouraging. With this course I found what I was looking for. He helped me find my story, what I wanted and needed to portray in an image. I got the confidence I needed to go for and achieve my APSNZ and to win and place second in the PSNZ Canon on line competition. I have nothing but high regard for Scott and his ability to bring out the best in other people. If you are up for making a big difference in your skill level, Scott's courses are for you. I am prepared to do another course with Scott as there is always something new to learn. Cheryl Muirson APSNZ

I've just traveled across the Tasman for my second workshop with Scott Fowler, on this occasion for the Creative Workshop. I was a little nervous this time as I didn't really view my photography as 'Creative', but I really wanted to see what I could achieve. That's the beauty of Scott's workshops, you are encouraged to bring along ideas, props and costumes with a vision of what you want to create, and then you have the opportunity to have a go. What a terrific bunch of people I met, creative minds of all abilities who were all given equal time with Scott, equal space to create their ideas, happy to share their ideas, and you only had to ask to be given some support, instruction or education. From dawn until dark we had photographic opportunity after photographic opportunity, with a wonderful, talented and flexible (very brave) model, and at night we worked on our images improving our post-production skills.

In my wildest dreams I could never have imagined that I could create the images I came home with, and for me this has been a real turning point in my photographic journey.

I can't thank Scott, Georgia and the other participants enough for the best, most reasonably priced, and inspiring workshop. Jen Fawkes, BPSA, Australia.
